| City hires Cain as finance director |
| The Richmond City Commission on Tuesday approved the hiring of Madison County native Sharon Cain as city finance director. She replaces Mike Broyles, finance director for the past 10 years who is now chief financial officer for Richmond Utilities. |

| No tax hike in schools’ 2012-13 draft budget |
| Faced with reductions in state aid and the end of federal economic stimulus funds, the Madison County School Board may pull nearly $3 million from its contingency fund instead of hiking local taxes next year.
