The Columbia Heights City Council on Nov. 10 unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance that would target abandoned property in an effort to improve the city's housing stock.
Finance & Commerce has recognized 35 Twin Cities business executives as this year’s “Top Women in Finance.” The winners in this year’s eighth annual awards, honored in a Nov. 5 program, come from large companies and small. They include talented young executives as well as wizened veterans.
Charles D. Baker was born in Orrington, Maine in 1848. After graduating from Bucksport Seminary in 1868 he moved to Minnesota and was employed by Moulton’s nursery.
