Co-op assessment hike sparks uproar
Northeastern Queens co-op owners are in an uproar over the city’s latest property assessments — which could lead to higher taxes this summer. Property values for Queens co-ops rose an average of 4.1% over last year in the tentative report, according to the city Department of Finance. But the actual percentage varied by co-op complex and were much higher in some cases.
