As revenue falls, towns, cities cope (The Post and Courier)
With revenue dropping and costs rising, local governments are taking a hit in this rough economy, raising the possibility of higher taxes or reduced services. So far, most county and municipal governments in the Lowcountry have used cost-cutting measures to patch up their budgets, but they face increasing economic pressure as the state cuts their funding.
