Big day for I'On goes awry (The Post and Courier)
First, the groundbreaking ceremony had to be postponed. Then the I'On Group encountered a slightly bigger problem in the planned promotion of a new home at its North Charleston real estate development. Davis wins one for 'little guy' in $4M 'Flip' verdict (The Post and Courier)
A federal jury in Charleston sided with local real estate investor Richard C. Davis in a breach of contract lawsuit he filed against the cable network A&E Television, awarding him $4 million in damages. Davis had claimed A&E had agreed verbally to a 50-50 profit-sharing agreement with him and his James Island firm, Trademark Properties Inc., from the reality series he created, "Flip This House." ...

Neil Ferguson and Phil Dumouchel have joined SunTrust Bank's Charleston mortgage division. Ferguson is sales manager for the coastal Charleston unit. Previously, he was with Bank of America for 19 years. Dumouchel is sales manager for the North Charleston unit. He previously was with Wachovia Mortgage for six years and is a former executive director of the Charleston HomeOwnership Center.

Major commercial and retail project coming to North Charleston (Charleston Regional Business Journal)
The city of North Charleston will announce plans Tuesday for what officials are calling the largest commercial development in the state’s history. A news release from the city today said the project is a joint venture between the Weiser Cos. and Weber USA.

The 500-member Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (CDW) today released a letter it delivered to Capitol Hill late yesterday. In the letter, CDW urged members of the Senate and House "to oppose all efforts to pass any provision included in the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA H.R. 800/S. 1041 in the 110th Congress)."
