Without Referendum, Meals Taxes Play Key Role For Loudoun’s Town
The Board of Supervisors last week reversed course on requesting that the General Assembly grant Loudoun the authority to enact a meals tax, and other non-real estate revenue sources available to municipal governments, without voter referendum. While rejected by county voters three times previously, meals taxes continue to play key roles in town's efforts to reduce the burden on homeowners.
